Ayushmann Khurrana confirmed for Sourav Ganguly biopic?
It is reported that Ayushmann Khurrana has been roped in to play the lead role in Sourav Ganguly’s biopic.
If reports are to be believed, Ayushmann Khurrana has been roped in to play the lead role in the biopic of legendary cricketer Sourav Ganguly. It was earlier revealed that a film is being made on the life of the Indian cricketer. While actors like Ranbir Kapoor were rumored to play the role, a new report claims that Ayushmann has been signed. To top it, it is said that Aishwarya Rajinikanth is being considered for the director’s job.
A report in Peepingmoon claims that Luv Films is backing the film and Ayushmann has been in talks for the film for a while now. “The makers have been discussing this film with Ayushmann for several months. The talks have now reached an advanced stage, and it is only a matter of formalities before it is officially signed. He is confident that Ayushmann, who is also a left-handed batsman, is an ideal choice for Ganguly’s role. Dada, as he is fondly called, has also approved Ayushmann’s casting and will meet him in person soon. Ayushmann will have to undergo months of extensive cricket training before starting the shoot.
Meanwhile, it was also rumored that Jubilee director Vikramaditya Motwane was about to direct the film. However, he has turned down the offer and Aishwarya Rajinikanth is being considered for the directorial job.
Ayushmann and Aishwarya have a few films in the pipeline. Ayushmann will next be seen in Dream Girl 2 alongside Ananya Panday, Paresh Rawal, Annu Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Asrani, Abhishek Banerjee, Seema Pahwa and Manjot Singh. Meanwhile, Aishwarya recently completed her directorial debut Laal Salaam, starring Vishnu Vishal and Vikrant, and also features an extended cameo by Rajinikanth. He released the posters a few months back. She has also signed a Hindi film titled Oh Saathi Chal.
