Mohammad Rubel Hussain Safikul Islam hails from Jessore district of Bangladesh and had entered India illegally through the Putakhali border in West Bengal. police claim to have found jihadi literature on his mobile phone during the investigation of a possible threat to the internal security of the country.
A police officer from the crime branch said, “We received a tip-off that a Bangladeshi national is living illegally in the industrial area of ​​Udhna with fake Indian documents. After verifying the information, we arrested Rubel Hussain Safikul Islam alias Kasim Islam Ansari (24) from Jalaram Compound Industries in Udhna. We seized his fake Aadhaar, PAN, Bank ATM cards and also his education certificates from Bangladesh Education. One of the documents shows that he is a graduate of Natinal University in Bangladesh.
During investigation, the police also came to know that Islam had entered the country in 2018 by crossing a river at Putakhali. After this he lived in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Gulbarga and Panvel. In 2021, he came to Surat and worked in a factory where he ironed clothes.
During his stay in Surat, his friend from Mumbai got prepared fake documents in the name of Kasim Islam Ansari.
“We found an app on his phone which is difficult to track. His phone also has Jihadi literature on it and it looks very technical. We are probing the people he met during his stay in the country and also whether he poses a threat to India in any way,” the official said.
