Rajinikanth is one of the stalwarts of the Indian film industry and has featured in around 169 films in various industries like Tamil, Telugu etc. He has predominantly worked in the Tamil film industry but interestingly it was the Telugu cinema that initially propelled him to stardom. Thalaivar, as he is popularly known, earned fame as the male lead in the Telugu film Chilakamma Cheppindi which was released on August 13, 1977. Eranki Sharma directed this film and it was a remake of the Malayalam film Adimagal.

Chilakamma Cheppindi even got the glorious opportunity to be premiered at the 1978 International Film Festival of India.

Rajinikanth played the role of Ravi in this film starring Sangeetha, Sripriya and others.

As of now, Rajinikanth is at the pinnacle of his career with many hit films to his credit like Bhairavi, Muthu etc.

Despite accomplishing so much in his career, Rajinikanth remains a humble person and this has been revealed by many of his co-actors as well. Jackie Shroff, his co-actor from Jailer, talked about this aspect in an interaction with News 18.

Jackie said,” Recalling how Rajinikanth apologised to him during the shoot of their upcoming film Jailer, Jackie said in the same interview, “I remember he had wrapped his shoot for the day and was leaving for his home. I still had certain scenes to shoot. He had sat in his car but decided to come back only because he had not said ‘bye’ to me. He came and said, ‘I am sorry I forgot to say goodbye to you. If you need me, I will stay back.

On the work front, Rajinikanth last acted in the film Lal Salaam written and directed by Aishwarya Dhanush. He played the role of Moideen Bhai in this film which received mixed to poor reviews from the audience. Some viewers opined that Lal Salaam had an engaging screenplay while others felt that the premise of the film was outdated. Vishnu Vishal, Senthil and others acted in this film. Renowned former cricketer Kapil Dev also had a cameo appearance in the film.
