Bengal BJP general secretary Agnimitra Paul has blamed state Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for the violence during the panchayat elections. Agnimitra Paul, general secretary of the party’s state unit, has demanded Mamata’s resignation over the violence.

Agnimitra compared the situation in Bengal to the Russia-Ukraine war. The BJP leader said that if the central force is not deployed here at the earliest, then Holi of blood will be played in the state.

In fact, during the filing of nominations for the panchayat elections in West Bengal, many opposition leaders have claimed that they were attacked violently.

Election date fixed without asking us
Agnimitra Paul said that we got only 5-6 days for nomination. The dates were not discussed with any other political party. We do not know on whose advice the Panchayat elections were announced. From the same day we are seeing that BJP and other opposition parties are not being allowed to file nominations.

The condition of the state is like we are fighting a war
Agnimitra said- BJP leaders are being beaten with iron rods in Diamond Harbour, Joynagar, Canning, Kakdwip and Bardhaman. Bomb blasts are happening here. Is it Russia-Ukraine? are we fighting a war? Now we understand why so much ammunition was recovered from the state in the last 6 to 8 months. Police comes under the authority of Mamta Banerjee. In such a situation, either the police is not listening to her, or she says one thing in front of everyone and does something else.

Ashamed to call myself a Bengali
Agnimitra said – Mamta Banerjee should resign because the law and order in the state has completely broken down. I request the Central Election Commission to deploy central forces here otherwise many people of all political parties will die. I feel sorry for those people who are losing faith in democracy. It is a matter of great shame that we are residents of a state like Bengal.
