Bhaskar Updates: IAS officer PK Gupta may be the new Chief Secretary of Delhi, AAP government sought permission from the Center

Delhi’s Aam Aadmi Party government has sought the Centre’s nod to appoint PK Gupta, a 1989 batch IAS officer, as the new Chief Secretary of Delhi. At present Naresh Kumar of 1987 batch is the Chief Secretary of Delhi. He is on this post from 20 April 2022.

IAS officer PK Gupta was appointed as the nodal officer by the Delhi government on May 1, 2020 during Corona. He was entrusted with the responsibility of helping migrant laborers and people from other states stranded in Delhi go home.

Department of Law Minister Kiren Rijiju changed, now Arjun Ram Meghwal will be Law Minister

The government has changed the portfolio of Law Minister Kiren Rijiju. Arjun Ram Meghwal will now be the law minister in place of Rijiju. In a notification issued by Rashtrapati Bhavan, it has been told that Meghwal has been given independent charge. Rijiju has been given the responsibility of the Ministry of Earth Sciences. Rijiju was made the Law Minister in 2021.

Rijiju has been in news for his comments on sitting and retired judges. He had also said about the collegium that no one in the country can warn anyone. Two migrant laborers killed, 9 injured in road accident on Srinagar-Anantnag highway

Two people died and 9 were injured in an accident on the Srinagar-Anantnag highway in Jammu and Kashmir. The incident took place near Goripora Barsu. The deceased have been identified as Laxman Deshri of Jharkhand and Suman Devi of Madhya Pradesh.

Four school children and an elderly person run over by a truck in Bihar’s Arwal; Two killed, three injured

15 accused arrested from Jaipur for planning robbery of 600 crores
