Bhumi Pednekar defends Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal’; says Sandeep Reddy Vanga has right of ‘self expression’ as a filmmaker | – Times of India

Bhumi Pednekar has joined the bandwagon of celebrities who have come out in support of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer ‘Animal‘. According to the actress Sandeep Reddy Vanga has the right of ‘self expression’ as a filmmaker.
According to a report in The Lallantop, Bhumi mentioned that she had seen the film, but she followed up by stating that she had never been a fan of watching “hyper-masculine films.” She expressed her preference for rom-coms and mentioned that she enjoys those types of films more.

Bhumi Pednekar pointed out that a film represents a filmmaker’s self-expression, which she considers significant. However, she highlighted the challenge lying in what the audience takes away from this self-expression. She stated that while a film reflects the filmmaker’s perspective, the audience’s interpretation is what poses the real challenge.

Earlier, Konkona Sensharma had also shared her thoughts on Animal and said that such films are not her cup of tea. She told ANI, “I have not watched Animal because I don’t feel it’s my kind of film. I haven’t really been drawn to it even from the reviews and things. Also, I am aware of his previous work, where stalking has been glorified, certain violence has been made acceptable in relationships, and that’s not what I stand for.”
The film also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and others. It did some record-making business at the box office.
