Bhumika Chawla remembers being replaced by Kareena Kapoor Khan in Jab We Met: Bobby Deol and I were supposed to star in it – Times of India

Shahid Kapoor And Kareena Kapoor Khan’s 2007 film Jab We Met is still one of the most loved films in Bollywood. But do you know that Kareena was not the first choice for this film. Bhumika ChawlaWho recently made her comeback on the big screen with Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, she spoke about being replaced from Jab We Met, which made her feel very bad.
In a chat show, when Bhumika was asked to reveal two major things about her acting career, she recalled how she could not have been a part of the Imtiaz Ali directorial. She revealed that she had already signed the film she was initially cast opposite bobby deolStating that she was the first choice for the film, which was then titled Train.

After the production house was changed and Ashtavinayak took over, the role was paired with Shahid. then it was finally replaced Ayesha Takia And the team finally settled on Shahid and Kareena as the lead actors. He said that he waited for a year for Jab We Met and did not sign any other film.

Bhumika said, “That’s how things happened. But it’s okay. I move on from such things very quickly.” Bhumika further added that she had also signed Lage Raho Munna Bhai and Kannathil Muthamittal with Mani Ratnam, but it did not happen. She also said that after the success of Tere Naam, she had received many offers but she was always selective about projects.

Further in the conversation, Bhumika said that even today actresses have a shelf life in a commercial mass film. “The hero is still playing the hero and the female lead has taken a backseat. Change has to come from the industry. The audience can’t do that. If we change something, the audience will accept it. If we don’t change then how will they see it?” will accept?” He added.
