US President Joe Biden said on Monday that he thinks relations between the United States and China are on the “right track” but he does not think progress has been made during a rare visit to Beijing by Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“We’re on the right track here,” Biden said of US-China relations. When asked by reporters if he thought progress had been made, he replied, “I don’t think, you know, it’s been done.”
However, Biden praised Blinken and said that “he’s done a great job.”
China and the United States agreed on Monday to stabilize their intense rivalry so that it does not escalate into conflict but failed to make any major breakthroughs.
