Surat: BJP candidate Rajesh Rana filed his nomination papers for the ward 20 municipal by-election on Saturday. A large number of BJP workers gathered at the BJP office in Udhna and then went to the district collector’s office to file nominations.
After the death of BJP Municipal Councilor Jayesh Jariwala, one of the four posts in Khatodara-Majura-Sagrapura Ward 20 fell vacant. The election is going to be held on 6 August.

Shailesh Raika’s name has been announced Congress And he also filed his nomination on Friday. Raika was earlier a municipal councilor from Anjana, but lost in the last municipal elections held in February 2021 on a Congress ticket from Ward 20.
