Jaipur: BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Kirodilal Meena accused the Chief Minister on Thursday. Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot and daughter-in-law Himanshi Gehlot are accused of doing benami business worth thousands of crores. Fairmont HotelJaipur, and other five-star and heritage hotels through invested funds from Mauritius and London.
“I will present evidence of these transactions to the Enforcement Directorate on Friday,” Meena told a press conference.
Responding to the allegations, Vaibhav Gehlot Told TOI, “These are baseless and 10-year-old allegations. They raise it every time during elections. This is nothing but the usual strategy of BJP to fabricate these stories before elections. Earlier also he had gone to the court regarding these allegations, but nothing happened.
Meena, while addressing the media, alleged that a London-based doctor from Jodhpur, whose shell company – Sivnar Holdings Limited – was formed by Minerva Holding Limited, which was named in the Panama Papers, had also worked in Triton Hotel i.e. Fairmont Hotel. Had invested around Rs.100 crores. , and the money was later converted into white money through Sunlight Car Rental Services Pvt. Ltd. He said that he would tell the name of the doctor to the ED. He further said that the name of JTC Fiduciary Services Limited, formerly known as Minerva Holding Limited, figured in the Panama Papers leak.
Meena further alleged illegal land conversion and construction, investing money in four big hotels including Raffles Hotel and Taj Aravali in Udaipur, Nimri Palace in Mount Abu and Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur through foreign shell companies in Mauritius and London. He said that an FIR has been lodged at Amer police station against benami property investment in five-star and heritage hotels. However, senior police officials said that no FIR has been lodged by the BJP leader so far.
The BJP MP alleged that a part of the profit earned through the said business was being further transferred to Sun Light Car Rental Services Pvt Ltd – a dummy company of Vaibhav Gehlot. He alleged that the CM and his son indulged in money laundering and benami investments Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur owned by Triton Hotel & Resort Pvt Ltd.
Gehlot had given permission to build the Fairmont Hotel. On August 21, 2009, under his government, the JDA approved the site plan of Triton Hotel & Resort i.e. Fairmont Hotel, Kukas, Jaipur, which was done with the malicious intent of Gehlot to bring down his 50% stake in the hotel Could ,” Meena said.
“Hotel Fairmont Jaipur is owned by a company “Triton Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd”. Vaibhav Gehlot had invested Rs 96.75 crore by benami transactions in the name of a dummy and shell company “Sivnar Holdings Ltd”, which is the owner of Fairmont Hotel. is the 50% owner. Sivnar Holdings Limited is a shell and dummy company of “JTC Fiduciary Services Limited” (earlier Minerva Fiduciary Services Limited). Sivnar Holdings Limited is registered in Mauritius at the same address as JTC Fiduciary Services Limited,” he said.
“The ownership document of Fairmont Hotel clearly shows that 50% shareholding (ownership) of the hotel is held by Ratan Kant Sharma and his wife Juhi Sharma and the remaining 50% shareholding (ownership) is in the name of Sivnar Holdings Limited, a shell company. Meena added.
He said that Vaibhav Gehlot had direct links with Sharma and Hotel Fairmont. “The Ashok Gehlot government allotted land to Fairmont, Jaipur during its tenure. Now, fake and false bills are being generated in Fairmont Hotel under travel expenses and all such bills are paid to a company “Sun Light Car Rental Services Private Limited” which has only two owners and directors – Vaibhav Gehlot and Himanshi Gehlot,” he alleged.
Meena further said, “Under the political patronage of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, the Raffles Hotel was built on land adjacent to Udai Sagar Lake in Udaipur. In this, some time back about eight hectares of land was grabbed from a tribal person and about two hectares of land was illegally converted for construction work and six hectares of land was left for agricultural work.
