BJP Seeks NHRC Probe into Death of Sidharthan | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: BJP has petitioned National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to investigate into the death of J S Sidharthan, a student of College of Veterinary & Animal Sciences at Pookode in Wayanad The petition by BJP state spokesperson Sandeep Vachaspati to NHRC chief Arun Kumar Mishra stated that the gruesome way in which the life of a young promising student was taken away has cast an irremovable stain to the nation’s collective conscience.
“To redress the same and to provide justice to the victim’s family and to ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future, it is necessary that an investigation be ordered by the NHRC into the matter and action be taken against the students involved in the matter, including those who are already arrayed in the FIR and the dean, assistant warden and other staff in the college,” the petition said.
It said SFI is behind the incident, and the CPM has silenced the mouth of students who had witnessed the torture. It further said that the CPM leaders also threatened the police who are investigating the crime to rescue the SFI leaders and activists involved in it.
