BJP will hold public meetings to garner support on completion of 9 years of PM Modi government: Anurag Thakur

Una (Himachal Pradesh) [India]Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said that on completion of nine years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the Centre, the Bharatiya Janata Party will hold several public meetings to garner public support. ,

Union Information, Broadcasting, Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Anurag Singh Thakur felicitated Himachal Pradesh BJP’s new President Rajeev Bindal and Organization General Secretary Siddharthan.

Talking to reporters, Thakur said, “Nine years of the Modi government will be completed on May 30. On this occasion, BJP will garner people’s support through public meetings. The president of the state unit will inform all the workers about the programs to be held in the next one month. Our Una MLA Satpal Satti ji was the state BJP president for the last nine years. We will continue to get his guidance as well. Our new organization minister Siddharthan ji has also reached Una today. We also welcome and congratulate them.

“Today every countryman feels that ‘Modi hai toh mumkin hai’. If we can reach this far in 9 years then imagine how far the country and Himachal can go in the next 5 years. In next two years we are going to become the third largest economy in the world, so imagine what will happen after 5 years.

Accusing the Congress party of practicing appeasement politics, the Union minister said the party had won state elections even before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, but could not match the results of the general elections.

“Those who have given nothing to the country except hatred, nepotism and ‘divide and rule’ strategy in their entire life, should not talk of love and harmony. Congress has always done appeasement politics. Even after ruling the country for 60-65 years, today they talk about ‘Rewaris’. Congress had won in some states even before the 2019 general elections, but you all have seen what happened in 2019.

The BJP leader further accused the Congress of “humiliating” BR Ambedkar and said that he has got respect from PM Modi.

“The Congress party humiliated and tortured Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of India. Modi ji himself came and gave him due respect. His Panchatirtha was developed in five places; Nagpur, Mau, Mumbai, Delhi and London. Our government also started celebrating 26 November as Constitution Day.

Thakur said, “It was Modi ji who had declared a holiday on April 14 on the birth anniversary of Babasaheb. Scholarship worth Rs 7000 crore has been given to Scheduled Tribes. SC, ST, backward and minority families have benefited the most from every scheme of the Modi government. Our main mantra is Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas and Sabka Vishwas.

The Union Minister, who is also the Member of Parliament from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, highlighted the development in road infrastructure for better commuting for the people.

“The road from Kiratpur to Sundernagar is 87 kms, which will be reduced to 57 kms. Today it takes more than 3 hours, but some days it will only take 40 minutes. A total of 14 tunnels will be made in this. Earlier it used to take 7 hours to go from Kiratpur to Manali, but now it will take only 3 hours. We have also awarded the contract for widening of roads in Jalandhar.

He said, “Widening of Hamirpur-Dharampur-Mandi is also being done at a cost of Rs 1200 crore. The road has also been widened from Hamirpur to Bilaspur at a cost of Rs 300 crore. The road from Mataur to Hamirpur-Bilaspur-Shimla which was more than 200 km will now be reduced to 180 km and will take only three hours instead of six hours. (ANI)
