The entire responsibility of preparing the BJP’s electoral ground in Bengal has been given to Shubhendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly.
In West Bengal, BJP is in election mode. After the Panchayat elections this year, preparations have started for the Lok Sabha elections to be held next year. For this, the BJP has made a strategy to count the achievements of Prime Minister Modi at the Center in 9 years and organize Durga Puja.
The handbook counting the achievements of the nine years of the Narendra Modi government will be printed and distributed in 6 languages. This handbook will be printed in Hindi, English, Bengali, Maithili, Gujarati and Gurmukhi. This campaign will start from South Kolkata along with Bhawanipur, the stronghold of Bengal CM Mamta.
Shubhendu got responsibility in Bengal
The entire responsibility of preparing the electoral ground in Bengal has been given to Shubhendu Adhikari, the Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. Shubhendu left Mamta Banerjee’s TMC and joined BJP just before the assembly elections. He defeated Mamta Banerjee in Nandigram in the assembly elections.
Now preparations are on to make a dent in Mamta’s stronghold Bhawanipur. Experts believe that if the BJP becomes strong in Bhawanipur, it will affect the whole of Bengal.

Shubhendu wants to organize Durga Puja in Bhawanipur. In fact, Durga Puja, the biggest festival of the state, has become the biggest platform of politics for all the political parties. Some 22-23 years ago, the political color started dissolving on this worship. Then Mamta Banerjee had formed a new party called Trinamool Congress after breaking ties with Congress a few years ago and was trying to establish herself as a strong alternative to CPM. During the 34 years of the Left Front government, Durga Puja was largely beyond politics. However, she used to publicize her achievements.
If penetration is made in Bhawanipur, it will affect the whole of Bengal
Bhawanipur has 46% non-Bengali population. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation and Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim and Agriculture Minister Shobhandev Chatterjee besides more than half a dozen councilors have their residence here. It is considered a stronghold of TMC.
Political observers say that the BJP is now insisting on making a dent in Mamta Banerjee’s house. They believe that if Mamta’s fort is breached, it will affect other areas as well. That’s why Shubhendu wants to boost the morale of party workers by organizing Durga Puja.
