Body Of Trader’s 19-year-old Kidnapped Son Found In Pit | Rajkot News – Times of India

Rajkot: The 19-year-old collegian, son of a timber trader in Anjar, was found murdered near Adipur, five days after he was kidnapped for Rs 1.25 crore ransom.
The Kutch (east) police recovered Yash Tomar’s body which was buried in a pit in an isolated area on Friday night. Incidentally, the family was preparing to leave for Mumbai on Saturday to hand over the ransom money to the kidnappers.
Yash’s mother had approached police on November 6 and reported that he was kidnapped and that she had received a call for ransom.
The Kutch police had formed 10 teams and first tried to trace the number from which his mother received the call. However, this did not give any concrete clues. One lead that the cops got during the investigation was a CCTV grab of a person with his face covered riding pillion on Yash’s two-wheeler. But it was too short.
Police then found a video that Yash had uploaded on social media before going incommunicado. In the video, he is heard saying “Fas Gaya (I’m trapped). Using technical assistance, police traced the location for two days.
According to sources, police found one shoe lying in the shrubs behind the Panchmukhi Hanuman temple on the outskirts of Adipur. When police searched the nearby areas, they found a pit that looked like it was recently filled. On digging, they found Yash’s body inside. The boy’s family identified the body from his wristwatch and clothes as the face had started decomposing.
Cops are yet to trace his two-wheeler. Yash was pursuing a diploma in pharmacy from Tolani college in Adipur.
Talking to TOI, Sagar Bagmar, superintendent of police, Kutch (east) said, “We were searching for the place where he recorded the video before disappearing. The place was isolated and it took two days to find. We are investigating the case from all angles.”
“Looking at the body, it seems that the boy was first throttled and then a rope was used to strangle him. His hands were also tied with rope. We have sent the body for postmortem to get more clues,” said Bagmar.
