Body Packed in Gunny Bag Found in Train – Investigation Underway | Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: The body of an unidentified woman, aged around 30, was found packed in a gunny bag in a compartment of Lucknow-Banaras Intercity express train when it reached here on Tuesday night.
GRP Varanasi Junction Inspector Hemant Singh said the body was sent for postmortem and efforts have also been started to ascertain her identity and to know where the gunny bag containing the body was loaded in the train.
According to GRP, the Lucknow-Banaras intercity express reached Banaras railway station around 8pm on Tuesday. Around 12.30am, the station master and GRP outpost in-charge Dhananjay Mishra were informed about a gunny bag lying in a general compartment with foul smell emanating from it.
When GRP personnel reached there and opened the gunny bag, the body of a woman with hands and legs tied was found inside it. The GRP called up doctors for initial examination and following collection of evidence by forensic experts, the body was sent for postmortem.
CO GRP Kunwar Prabhat Singh and Singh also reached Banaras station to take stock. However, the officials could not find any document that could help in ascertaining her identity.
