Andaz Apna Apna directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon has stood the test of time. The film on its releases didn’t exactly set the box office on fire but during the age of VHS tapes and VCDs the film attained cult status and till date is part of pop culture, Besides its leading star cast the film also had cameos by Govinda and Juhi Chawal, but not many are aware that Sunny Deol was actually supposed to be part of the film.
Sunny And Rajkumar Santoshi have had a great history, before Andaz Apna Apna they had made films like Ghayal and Damini together. So when Santoshi was making his first film without Sunny, he attempted to get Sunny onboard at least for a cameo. So Sunny was supposed to be part of the film but since he was busy on the given date he couldn’t make it for the shoot , ultimately he was replaced by Govinda. It is being said that makers who were in a fix as Sunny couldn’t make it , figured out that Govinda was shooting nearby and they requested him to be part of the film and he readily obliged.
If one noticed there is actually a scene in the film where Juhi who plays herself in the film is talking about how people have loved her pairing with Sunny Deol and she has signed few more films with him, Andaz Apna Apna released post the immense success of Darr.
