Brawl between neighbours ends in woman’s murder | Ludhiana News – Times of India

LUDHIANA: A 40-year-old woman was murdered while her husband sustained injuries following a brawl with their neighbours over dumping of dirty water outside their house in Ambedkar Nagar of Sahnewal. The police have arrested two of the accused, while raids are being conducted to arrest the other four.
On the complaint of Lallan Shah, husband of deceased woman Maanti Devi, 40, the police have booked neighbour Ajay Gupta, his relatives Kishor, Pankaj, Kiran, Ramawati of Giaspura, and an unidentified accomplice.
Inspector Inderjit Singh Boparai, SHO, Sahnewal police station, said the victims often had minor fights over throwing dirty house water on the street with their neighbour Ajay Gupta and his wife Archana. “On September 8, they had a fight over the same issue.
When Maanti objected to Archana for throwing water outside her house, they indulged in a heated argument after which Maanti threw boiling water on Archana, who had suffered burn injuries and was admitted to PGIMER, Chandigarh.
To take revenge, Archana’s husband Ajay and his accomplice attacked Maanti and her husband Lallan Shah with sticks and rods. While Lallan suffered minor injuries, Maanti suffered grievous internal injuries. She was referred to Government hospital in Sector 32, Chandigarh, where the doctors declared her dead on Sunday,” the cop said.
