In Fatehpur, Barabanki, a young man brutally murdered his sister on Friday morning after she had eloped with her lover some time back. After beheading him, he wandered on the road leading from Sahsi to Fatehpur with the behead in one hand and the severed head in the other. This spread panic in the entire village.
As soon as the information about honor killing was received, the police reached the spot and arrested him on the road leading to Fatehpur, about one kilometer away from the village. A case of murder has been registered against the youth on the complaint of the father. According to the information, the accused youth Riyaz sent his sister to wash clothes in the courtyard near the house.
Then after reaching there, he started attacking him violently and finally severed his head from the body. Riyaz’s sister had left the house on May 25 with Chand Babu, a resident of the village. On May 29, a case of kidnapping was registered against five people, including Chandbabu, on the father’s Tahrir.
The father had told the daughter’s age as 17 years. The police tracked down the two and sent the youth to jail, while the girl was handed over to her family members. Riyaz, 24, was angry about his sister’s behavior since then. SHO DK Singh told that the accused seems to be mentally healthy.
