BSF shoots down Pakistani drone in Punjab’s Amritsar, 5th in last 4 days | Amritsar News – Times of India

Amritsar: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel posted along the Indo-Pak International Border in Amritsar shot down a suspected Pakistani drone on Monday night.
This is the fifth Pakistani drone shot down by BSF jawans in the last four days.

According to BSF reports, BSF personnel deployed in Bhaini Rajputana area near Amritsar shot down a suspected Pakistani drone on the night of 22 May after hearing a faint sound.
After further investigation, BSF recovered a black colored DJI Matrice 300 RTK quadcopter with two packets of suspected heroin weighing approximately 2.1 kg from the fields of Bhaini Rajputana village.
Notably, the consignment was fitted with a small torch for easy detection by smugglers.
The incident follows a series of previous drone incursions, in which a consignment of about 3.3 kg of heroin was seized on 21 May, and three incidents on 19 May, where two drones were shot down and 2.5 kg of heroin was recovered .
The drone intruded into Indian territory near Dhariwal village and Ratan Khurd village on the other side of Amritsar district. In one of the May 19 incidents, a drone landed on the Pakistani side.
