BSNL 4G to go live in 2 weeks; 5G upgrade by December: Ashwini Vaishnav

BSNL started coming out of 4G network with 200 sites, and after three months of testing, it will launch an average of 200 sites per day, Union IT and Communications Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Wednesday.

Minister said that BSNL’s 4G network will be upgraded 5G By November-December.

Vaishnav said, “The 4G-5G telecom stack we have developed in India. That stack deployment started with BSNL. Between Chandigarh and Dehradun, 200 sites have been set up and within next maximum two weeks, it should be live.” Will go.”

BSNL has placed advance purchase orders of over Rs. 19,000 crores with Tata Consultancy Services and ITI Limited for deployment of 4G network, which covers more than 1.23 lakh sites.

“You will be surprised at the speed at which BSNL will deploy. After three months of testing, we will be working on 200 sites a day. This is the average at which we will be moving. The BSNL network will initially work like 4G. Soon, Vaishnav said, around November-December, it will become 5G with very small software adjustments.

He was speaking to reporters after inaugurating the 2,00,000th site in Gangotri along with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

Vaishnav said, “Today practically a 5G site is being activated every minute. The world is amazed. It is a matter of pride for us that the 2,00,000th site has been set up at Chardham.”

He said that the Prime Minister has said that India will stand with the world in 5G and will play a leading role in 6G.

Vaishnav said that gone are the days when transfer of technology used to be signed.

“Today India has become a technology exporter,” Vaishnav said.

The first 1 lakh 5G sites were commissioned within 5 months after the Prime Minister launched the service on 1 October.

Next 1 lakh sites have been rolled out in three months.

“We had set a target of around 1.5 lakh sites by December 31, 2023. Already 2 lakh sites have been completed, I think it should be more than 3 lakh by December 31,” Vaishnav said.

He said countries like the US have started implementing telecom technologies made in India.

“Today, Chardham devotees have got a gift in the form of a 5G site. Now, our border area will also be connected with mobile connectivity. The dream we had of high-speed connectivity in the hilly region of Uttarakhand has come true. ” Completed today,” Dhami said.

He said that the introduction of high-speed service will help in relief and disaster management, monitoring and will give a boost to the economy.
