Bsy Quells Dissent Against Shettar In Belagavi | Hubballi News – Times of India

Belagavi: Former chief minister BS Yediyurappa as for now has succeeded in quelling escalating dissent against Belagavi Lok Sabha candidate Jagadish Shettar. He held a meeting with the disappointed ticket aspirants, leaders, and office bearers here on Tuesday night at a private hotel and urged them to support Shettar to make Narendra Modi the PM for the third time.
Few days ago, many local BJP leaders rebelled against the party’s decision to field Shettar from Belagavi. Even they managed to run a ‘Go Back Shettar’ campaign on social media. Increasing rebellion against Shettar had turned into a headache for the party.
However, on Tuesday night, Yediyurappa held a series of meetings with the leaders and managed to douse the opposition. He also talked with MLA Abhay Patil, state vice-president Anil Benake, state spokesperson and advocate MB Zirali ticket aspirant Mahantesh Kavatagimath, among others who were not in favour of giving a ticket to Shettar.
Moreover, Yediyurappa participated in day-long campaigning in favour of Shettar along with the latter. The local party workers had organised a bike rally in the city to welcome Shettar. Thousands of workers participated in it.
‘All excited to make Modi PM again’
Speaking to reporters here, Yediyurappa said: “There is no dissent in the party. All workers are excited to work to make Narendra Modi PM for the third time. The workers have demanded to bring Modi to Belagavi for campaigning. I am working on that. Modi wave is visible everywhere and we will win both Belagavi and Chikkodi seats with a good margin of votes”.
