BTS’ V clinches first music show victory with ‘FRI(END)S’ on ‘M Countdown’ – Times of India

BTS’ V, also known as Kim Taehyung, clinched his first-ever music show trophy for his hit track ‘FRI(END)S’ on the latest episode of Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’, aired on March 21. The competition for the top spot was fierce, with V’s ‘FRI(END)S’ contending against TWICE‘s ‘ONE SPARK’, but ultimately emerging victorious with an impressive total of 6,950 points.
In addition to V’s momentous win, the episode featured electrifying performances from an array of talented artists. Among the standout acts were (G)I-DLE, who mesmerized with their performance of ‘Fate’, and Red Velvet’s Wendy, who captivated the audience with her rendition of ‘Wish You Hell’.Other notable performances included Apink’s Namjoo delivering a powerful performance of ‘BAD’, Chungha heating up the stage with ‘EENIE MEENIE (Feat. ATEEZ’s Hongjoong)’, and DAY6’s captivating rendition of ‘Welcome to the Show’.
The lineup also featured stellar performances by OH MY GIRL’s YooA, HIGHLIGHT, NCT WISH, THE BOYZ, CRAVITY, TEMPEST, BAE173, TNX, xikers, LUN8, n.SSign, VVUP, YOUNG POSSE, and PURPLE KISS, each bringing their unique charm and talent to the stage.

On March 15, at 1 p.m. KST, the BTS member released his latest solo single, titled ‘FRI(END)S’, accompanied by a music video. The song, characterized by its pop soul R&B genre, features a sweet melody and a soothing rhythm. Its heartfelt lyrics delve into the longing to transition a longstanding friendship into a deeper, romantic relationship.
