Surat: Punagam police arrested a 26-year-old man for possessing a fake identity of a Hindu Businessman With fake aadhar card.

Punagam police inspector MC Nayak told TOI, “We had received a complaint against Ozair that he had two Aadhaar cards. In one he has described himself as Ozair while in the other he has been described as Arjun Singh. After investigation, we found that he took the name of Arjun Singh to get profit in a textile business largely dominated by the community. We have got Ozair’s one-day remand and we are probing if he had any other intention.
Ozair, a native of Bihar’s West Champaran district, was doing business in the Awadh market for the past two years. In his rent agreement, he used his original name, Ozair. But to hide his identity from the merchants, Ozair took the name Arjuna. He photoshopped the fake Aadhaar card in his computer.
VHP leaders also alleged a love-jihad angle in this matter. However, the police could not find any solid proof of this allegation.
