Ottawa:
Canada’s public broadcaster CBC and its French-language edition Radio-Canada said Monday they are effectively abandoning Twitter on a new government-funded label it says calls into question editorial independence.
“Our journalism is fair and independent. To suggest otherwise is untrue. That’s why we are suspending our activities on @Twitter,” the broadcaster said in a Twitter message.
