Surat: Gold ornaments and cash worth more than Rs 5 lakh were stolen in two separate incidents in Surat. A complaint was lodged with the police on Saturday.

In another incident, Reena Jadav, who works as a receptionist in a hospital, lodged a complaint that someone stole gold worth Rs 3.23 lakh from her house in Bhatar. According to the complaint lodged at the Khatodara police station on Saturday, Reena kept gold ornaments – a necklace, a mangal sutra, a chain, a pendant and four naths – in her cupboard on May 28.
On 3rd June she wanted to wear these ornaments as she wanted to perform Vat Savitri Prayer. But when they checked the cupboard, they found the jewelery missing. His family checked CCTV footage at their neighbour’s house and found that a man dressed in an orange T-shirt and blue track pants had entered their house at 11.28 am on June 1. The family found that the man had entered their house through a window. There was no grill. Police investigation was going on.
