Chandrayaan 3 Moon Mission Set For July Launch: Jitendra Singh

New Delhi Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Wednesday said that India’s much-awaited lunar mission, Chandrayaan 3, is set to launch on July 3, with a possible deadline coming in the second half of the month.

During a media interaction at a public rally, the minister said that if everything goes according to plan, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch the ambitious Chandrayaan 3 mission, which aims to land the spacecraft on the South Pole of the Moon. The key is to demonstrate the required technique. ,

He further mentioned that earlier this year, Chandrayaan 3 successfully completed the tests required to validate its ability to endure the challenging environment during launch and subsequent journey.

Jitendra Singh said, India’s first lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1 had brought India a place of pride and supremacy on the world stage by identifying the presence of water on the lunar surface for the first time. He said that this input was also given great importance by the world’s leading space agencies like NASA of the United States of America.

Chandrayaan-3 serves as a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2 and is aligned with the theme of “Science of the Moon”. The lander and rover of Chandrayaan-3 will carry scientific instruments capable of studying various aspects of the Moon, including its environment and thermo-physical properties. Additionally, an experimental instrument included in the mission will facilitate the study of various aspects of Earth, thereby promoting the concurrent theme of “Science from the Moon”.

In his address to the public meeting, Jitendra Singh emphasized on the transformative nature of various public-centric schemes launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last nine years. These initiatives aim at the upliftment of those sections of the society who were neglected earlier and are expected to bring about socio-economic changes by reshaping social culture and behaviour.

He further said that schemes like Rozgar Mela, Startup India, and Mudra Yojana have been designed with sensitivity and compassion to provide equal opportunities for the youth, to reward their abilities and hard work. The minister also underlined the importance of schemes like Ujjwala and Swachhta (toilets) in ensuring convenience, safety, dignity and respect for Indian women.
