Child crushed to death by car in Umrah Surat News – Times of India

Surat: A 21-month-old child died of serious injuries after being hit by a car in Surat’s Umra village. olpad taluka near the city on Friday.
The child was run over by a car while playing in the premises of the residential colony where he lived.
Vishal DabhiThe person who was driving the car has not been arrested yet. He disappeared after taking the injured child and his family to a nearby hospital.
Dabhi has been booked at Olpad police station for rash and negligent driving causing death of the child. Police is working to trace Dabhi.
In the incident Mohd. Kashyapson of Chirag Parsania, playing in the premises of Saurashtra Green City, a residential apartment colony. Dabhi reached the colony around 2.30 pm and after entering through the main gate, he took a turn between B1 and B2 apartments.
As he turned, Dabhi ran his car over a child playing a few feet away. The boy was crushed under the tyre.
The incident was captured in the CCTV camera installed in the campus. Seeing that the car has crushed the child, a family member is seen running to save the boy.
“Dabhi took the boy and his father to a nearby hospital in his car. The boy was declared brought dead during treatment,” said a police officer.
“While the child was undergoing treatment, Dabhi left the hospital. He and his family were not found at their residence,” said the police.
It is suspected that Dabhi might have fled to his native place. Police is gathering information about his native place and possible places where he may be hiding.
The entire incident was captured in several CCTVs installed in the colony.
Police are yet to examine the CCTV footage to ascertain why Dabhi could not see the child.
