circus box office report

Despite the stellar cast of Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde among others, ‘Circus’ did not receive positive response from critics or audience. Due to which the film is proving unsuccessful in attracting the audience to the theatres. The film started earning at a slow pace from the opening day itself. Was Cirkus a loss for Rohit Shetty?

However, if trade reports are to be believed, the financial prospects of the film are not completely bleak. While it is not expected to do well at the box office, it is expected to generate significant revenue from non-theatrical sources such as satellite, digital and music sales. 135 crore is expected to come from these sources, which will help cover the production cost of the film, estimated at 155-160 crore.

Unfortunately, even with this non-theatrical revenue, the producer of the film, Rohit Shetty, who is also the director, will not be able to recoup the estimated fee of 30-40 crores. This is because the film’s theater share, or the amount of revenue generated from ticket sales in theatres, is expected to be less than ₹25 crore.
