Citadel Review: Priyanka Chopra And Richard Madden’s espionage thriller is everything it promises to be with high-octane action trailers. Within the first 10 minutes of a web series, you get hooked and want to know the answers to all the questions in one go. Priyanka Chopra made the opening train sequence thrilling and interesting from the story as well as your visual point of view and after watching it you will definitely understand why it is so important. The adrenaline-fuelled action sequences match beautifully with PC and Richard’s hot chemistry on screen. This forms the basis of an exciting series that will get more interesting with each episode. However, this is an estimate.

The first two episodes of Citadel, which released on Prime Video on Friday, offer a powerful glimpse of what to expect from the web series. In the first few episodes, it is clear that ‘they’ want to burn down the Citadel. The ‘way’ here refers to a powerful syndicate called the Manticore. Eight years after the Citadel is ‘destroyed’, Mason and Nadia struggle with their past, lost memories and new beginnings. When traced and reverted to their previous roles, they embark on a mission to build a relationship on lies and secrets to prevent the Manticore from establishing a new world order.

While the plot seems average and par for the course, the espionage thriller boasts of several reasons to watch it. For starters, an extraordinary star cast including Priyanka Chopra, Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci and Leslie Manville. Then the creative genius of the Russo Brothers. What makes it more engaging is not just the action, but the drama that unfolds with each episode. While the climax of the first episode is predictable, it’s exciting to jump into the next episode to put together another piece of the puzzle like Mason, who lost his memory after the train incident. He takes us on a journey as he pieces his life together and remembers who he is.

Lastly, if you are a fan of high-end action and spy thrillers, Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden’s Citadel is not something you would want to miss, but don’t watch it for the story.
