RANCHI: Taking a humanitarian step at the time of crisis, around a dozen self-motivated volunteers from Ranchi on Tuesday went to Odisha to donate blood and help the victims of Balasore train tragedy admitted in various hospitals in the neighboring state.
Around 288 people were killed and hundreds of other victims were battling for life and life-long disability in various hospitals after three trains collided in Balasore on Friday. Soon after the accident, people in Odisha also turned up in large numbers to donate blood. taking a cue from OdiasHe said that the people of Ranchi were also motivated to contribute in the time of national crisis.
Ranchi residents had gone to the neighboring state under the banner of Rashtriya Yuva Shakti for a noble cause.
Central president of the group speaking to TOI over phone after donating blood at Balasore Sadar Hospital Uttam YadavHe said that he has donated 10 units of blood. “12 people reached Balasore from Ranchi today (Tuesday) out of which 10 donated blood. It was one of the biggest train accidents in the country and we thought about doing our part by donating blood to at least help those people Thought treatment,” Yadav said.
Donor Nitesh Verma said such a calamity is unprecedented and the entire country should stand together to extend all possible help to those in distress.
