Class 10 Boy Commits Suicide Hours Before State Board Exam in Odisha | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

BHUBANESWAR: A class 10 student died by suicide in Odisha‘s Bolangir district just hours before the annual state board examination. The incident occurred at Viswatma S Vidyamandir in the Kamakshi Nagar area of Bolangir district.
The student, belonging to Taliudar village, was scheduled to take the exam at Bhagaban Bidya Mandir center in Khujenpali.
The boy was found hanging in the washroom by hostel inmates this morning. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead by doctors, police said.
“We are unable to understand the cause of his death. He was a meritorious student. The school had no pressure on the student”, hostel warden Sambit Kumar said.
Meanwhile, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha commenced the annual matriculation (class 10) examinations today.
Approximately 5.51 lakh students are expected to appear at 3,047 centers across the state. The High School Certificate (HSC) Examination will continue until March 4.
