THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CM Pinarayi Vijayan has written to external affairs minister (EAM) S Jaishankar seeking his intervention in the rescue of the three youths from Anchuthengu who were conned to join the Russian army and fight the Ukraine war.
He said the case was already taken up with the Indian ambassador in Moscow and the joint secretary in the ministry of external affairs handling the division concerned this month itself, but no response has been received from them so far.
Tinu, Prince and Vineeth were taken to Russia by promising security personnel‘s job by an agent after collecting Rs 7 L each from them in Jan this year. They were then forcibly sent to the war front. Prince, who was badly injured, is undergoing treatment in a hospital in Moscow.
