Lucknow: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath Met the one and a half year old girl who was injured in the firing in the court premises in Lucknow on Thursday.
Adityanath reached the ward of the trauma center of King George’s Medical University (KGMU) where baby girl Lakshmi was admitted and inquired about her health.

According to Chief Medical Superintendent Sandeep Tiwari, the condition of the girl and the police constable is stable.
“The girl is on oxygen support and her condition is stable. In the next 5-6 hours, we will operate on her to take out the bullet stuck in her body. The girl is being treated free of cost. The Chief Minister also congratulated her parents. assured that he will be given the best treatment. They have asked the university to inform the government if anything is required for treatment.
Doctors said the bullet entered the girl’s body from behind and crossed the skin and was located on the side of the chest.
Police said the assailant, identified as Vijay Yadav (24), a resident of Jaunpur district, was apprehended on the spot after the shots were fired outside the courtroom at around 4 pm. Witnesses said the assailant was dressed as a lawyer and fired about six rounds.
The accused was thrashed by the lawyers and is undergoing treatment in the hospital and his condition is said to be stable.
The Chief Minister has constituted a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the incident.
Police officials said the assailant opened fire when Jeeva (48), serving life sentence in Lucknow jail, was brought to the court for hearing.
Jeeva, a resident of Muzaffarnagar district of UP, had several criminal cases registered against her. These include the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai and former state minister Brahm Dutta Dwivedi, as well as 22 other cases related to charges such as cheating and criminal conspiracy.
