Coimbatore : ESI Hospital near singanallur COVID-19 Caseload by new treatment patients coimbatore district collector if fresh cases pick up Dr GS Sameer said on Wednesday.
Speaking to TOI, Sameeran said that around 99% of the patients who tested positive for the viral infection in Coimbatore were kept in home isolation as their health condition was stable.
“We did not mobilize new patients to health centers as most of them had sought treatment in home isolation. No major cluster has been reported in the last few weeks also. The administration is considering to manage the new patients in home isolation. Instead of building a separate treatment center at Codisia Trade Fair Complex, this time the entire caseload will be handled by ESI Hospital.”
The Collector said that 750 beds are ready in ESI Hospital for the treatment of new patients, it can be increased anytime.
He said that the district administration currently has no plan to revive the Covid care centers in schools and colleges as classes are on.
When asked about the pattern of Covid-19 trend for Coimbatore district, he said the patients who had tested positive recently showed symptoms of sore throat and mild fever for three days.
He advised the public to follow COVID-appropriate behavior such as wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing and using hand sanitisers. He appealed to the beneficiaries to get vaccinated to protect themselves from the viral infection.
