Colleague dies, Chanda nurses go on flash strike | Nagpur News – Times of India

CHANDRAPUR: The nurses at Chandrapur Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) went on flash strike following the death of a nurse on Friday afternoon.
The union has alleged negligence in treatment and have demanded action against the guilty doctors.
Deceased nurse, Seema Meshram, was on night duty in the delivery ward on August 16. As Meshram complained of dizziness, she was admitted at the GMCH. The nurses’ union has alleged that Meshram was not given proper treatment till 11am on August 17. The union alleged that as none of the senior doctors came to treat her, Meshram’s parents shifted her to a private hospital.
As she did not respond to the treatment there, it was decided to shift Meshram to Orange City Hospital. However, she died on Friday while on way to Nagpur.
After getting the information of the death, nurses at Chandrapur GMCH went on a strike. The GMCH administration has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
