Colleges, universities urged to join Academic Credit Bank Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar : The Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) has started the process of registration of autonomous colleges and universities of the state on the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) platform. After successful registration of institutes, students will be registered on this platform to avail the services ABC,
under abc Ministry of Education Academics will provide a variety of services including credit verification, credit accumulation, credit transfer or redemption, and authentication of academic awards. If a student receives academic credit from different registered institutions, the credit will be credited to the student’s single account created on this ABC platform.
According to National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, ABC is envisaged to facilitate academic mobility of students with freedom to study in higher education institutions in the country, with a suitable credit transfer mechanism from one program to another, with As a result a degree/degree is obtained. Diploma/PG-Diploma, official sources said.
OSHEC Vice President Ashok Kumar Das said that the credits received by the students will be credited to their ABC academic account.
If the student transfers to another institution, the accumulated credits are transferred to the new institution’s account. After the credit is redeemed for the award of degree, it will be debited from the ABC academic account of the students concerned, he said.
OSHEC has taken up the responsibility of helping the institutions to register on the ABC platform.
A higher education institution needs to register itself with NAD before ABC registration.
Council sources said so far nine out of 30 autonomous colleges in the state and 10 out of 14 state public universities in the state have registered.
