Congress Govt Is Facing Anti-incumbency, Claims Bjp | Mangaluru News – Times of India

Mangaluru: BJP state spokesperson Ashwathnarayana lashed out at Congress and chief minister Siddaramaiah, stating that the Karnataka CM has spoken only on two issues — one on guarantee schemes and another on tax devolution — thereby claiming that the state is getting no support from the Centre. He told reporters on Monday that the CM is engaged in telling lies.“To hide the lapses of the state govt and its failure in allotting funds for development works, the CM is levelling allegations against the Centre,” he said.
“The state govt is facing anti-incumbency within 11 months of coming to power. Several legislators had expressed their dissatisfaction over ministers failing to address their demands in the last100 days. The Congress leaders in the past had levelled allegations against the BJP govt on corruption. Now, the contractors’ association office bearers have levelled allegations of corruption against the state govt,” he said.
“The BJP is not opposed to guarantees. However, it has not been implemented systematically in Karnataka,” he said, adding that the promise of guarantee schemes has not worked in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh assembly elections. “To implement guarantee schemes, the Congress govt in Karnataka has hiked stamp duty. There are no medicines in govt hospitals, and patients are forced to purchase from outside,” he alleged.
BJP seeks clarification
on Congress’ manifesto
Ashwathnarayana sought to know whether ‘Nyay Patra’, the manifesto of the Congress, is coming from Congress or from the INDIA bloc.
“Congress is contesting only a few seats in the Lok Sabha election and cannot fulfil its promises alone. While releasing the manifesto, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge appealed to voters to vote for Congress to bring in changes in the country. Why did the Congress fail to bring in changes when they ruled the country for over five decades?” he questioned.
“The Congress manifesto resembles the Muslim League promise of 1936. Congress is the new Muslim League in India. They are engaged in appeasement and dividing the country,” he said and expressed confidence in the NDA alliance winning 400 seats in the Lok Sabha election and the BJP-JD(S) alliance winning all the 28 seats in Karnataka.
