New Delhi [India]May 13 (ANI): Congress is on course for an emphatic victory in Karnataka elections, winning three seats and leading in 129 more as party leaders thanked voters for their support .

As per the latest trends by the Election Commission, BJP is leading in 66 seats and Janata Dal-Secular is leading in 22 seats.

Independents are leading in two seats and Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha and Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha in one seat each. Independents are leading on four seats and Kalyana Rajya Pragati Paksha and Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha on one seat each.

In terms of vote share, Congress got 43 per cent, BJP 36 per cent and JD(S) 13.2 per cent.

Congress workers celebrated at the party headquarters in Karnataka and Delhi.

Voting for the 224-member Karnataka Assembly was held on May 10 and the counting of votes began at 8 am on Saturday.
