Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 8 July described the Congress as a mixture of “loot and deception”. Alleging that his government in Rajasthan was “neither honest nor stable”, he said people in the state would not vote for the party in the upcoming assembly elections because of it.

He said the Congress has gone into “bye-bye mode” fearing its imminent defeat in the state.

Shri Modi alleged that the Congress, plagued by internal rift and dissension, has promoted corruption, crime and politics of appeasement. “Under the Congress rule, the protectors have become the predators… Rajasthan tops in crimes against women. The entire government machinery here is busy protecting the accused of rape and murder.”

Accusing the ruling Congress of failing to develop a strong infrastructure for electricity, water and public facilities, Mr Modi said the state government has also failed to utilize central schemes for which huge funds were sanctioned Was.
