Congress Shares Sangh Parivar Mindset: Cm | Thiruvananthapuram News – Times of India

Thiruvananthapuram: Continuing his tirade against Congress in his election rallies, chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan here on Thursday alleged that Congress party has been sharing a Sangh Parivar mindset even as central govt plans to destroy the Indian Constitution. That’s why Congress is not able to oppose CAA openly,” he said.
Addressing rallies at Attingal constituency where CPM district secretary and sitting MLA V Joy is the LDF candidate, Vijayan repeated his claim that Congress manifesto is silent on CAA.He said CAA discriminates against refugees on the basis of religion. “Citizenship is being offered on the basis of religion,” he said.
The chief minister also wanted Congress to clarify its stand on central govt using enforcement directorate (ED) against political opponents. “Congress joined hands with other opposition parties to protest against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi. However, the opposition leader in Kerala has been seen siding with ED as the agency targets KIIFB and former finance minister T M Thomas Isaac,” he said.
Vijayan said Congress was responsible for BJP winning 2014 parliament election. “People were dissatisfied over the performance of UPA II govt. During the 2019 election, people in Kerala fell for the narrative that Congress should win maximum number of seats to keep BJP out of power. Congress not only failed to emerge as the party with single largest seats, but many Congress leaders also crossed over to BJP camp,” he said, adding that the landslide victory of UDF in the last Lok Sabha election did no good to Kerala as UDF MPs failed to raise their voice for Kerala in the Parliament.
