Congress will soon lose popularity: Basavaraj Bommai | Hubli News – Times of India

Hubli: Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai Where is the popularity of BJP Congress If the government goes back on its pre-poll guarantees like the Anna Bhagya free rice scheme, this government will not last long.
The Siddaramaiah-led government has accused the Center of playing dirty politics by directing the Food Corporation of India not to sell rice to states, but Bommai said it was “a lame excuse”.
“Now, they are making lame excuses that rice is not being supplied,” Bommai told reporters. “This shows, the Congress has gone back on its guarantee. He added: “The question is where to get the rice. If farmers supply rice, it should be bought. It is not correct to say that the central government should provide. If rice is not given till July 1, we will agitate. ,
However, the Siddaramaiah government has clarified that it is not seeking free rice from the Center and will pay for it. It has also emphasized that the scheme will come into effect on July 1 as planned.
Bommai also claimed that people are facing water shortage. “Around 500 villages are facing severe drinking water crisis. But the government is only doing video conferences. A task force should be constituted to deal with the situation.”
