Rajkot: A local court in Morbi on Thursday reserved order on the bail plea of ​​seven accused in the bridge collapse case. Sessions Judge PC Joshi is hearing the bail pleas.
Seven accused Deepak Parekh and Dinesh Dave – managers of the Oreva Group who were responsible for bridge operations; ticket clerks Mahadev Solanki and Mansukh Topia; and security guards Alpesh Gohil, Dilip Gohil and Mukesh ChauhanHe had moved the bail plea after the police filed a charge sheet in the case last week.
The accused have argued that they were mere employees and were acting on the orders of their superiors. He had no direct role in the bridge collapse that resulted in the death of 135 people and injured many others on October 30 last year.
The accused have also argued that the police have not described their role in the charge sheet filed in the court. special public prosecutor SK VoraIt, however, opposed the bail plea and argued that the Orewa Group and the employees were aware of the poor condition of the bridge. Vora argued that despite knowing the situation, the ticket clerks and guards allowed 400 people onto the bridge following orders from their superiors.
