Cyclist on 42,000-km journey with his pup to ‘save humanity’ | Ahmedabad News – Times of India

An Uttar Pradesh resident is on a mission to cycle 42,000km – from Aligarh to Dubai -in three years. Shahnawaz Khan, who calls himself Baba Biker, wants to spread the message of humanity, harmony and peace. Having travelled through Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan, he reached Ahmedabad on Monday. Khan plans to cover 22 states of the country before continuing his journey to Dubai via Iran.
It was during his time in Jaipur that he befriended a “cheerful, little pup” who is now his companion on his mission.”Goldy has a special seat on my cycle and in my heart. I meet a vet in every city to ensure he is in perfect health,” says Khan. “I feel that we are losing human connection in an increasingly materialistic world. I want to remind everyone to be humane in their approach to others, so the world is a better place to live in,” he adds.
Travelling, according to him, is the best painkiller. He works odd jobs to meet his expenses and is looking for someone to sponsor his ride. Khan is on his way to Dholavira from where he will proceed to the Rann of Kutch before heading to Maharashtra.
