This is the second time Chouhan has joined the BJP, a few months back he rebelled against the saffron party and joined the Akhilesh Yadav-led party just ahead of the 2022 assembly elections.
Speaking to reporters at the state party office, Chouhan said his “ghar wapsi” was a result of the collective acceptance of the entire BJP leadership, which has once again shown faith in him.
Chouhan said he would channelize all his political might into enabling the BJP to win “every seat” (essentially in UP’s east) and ensure that PM Narendra Modi returns to power for a third consecutive term in 2024. Lok Sabha Elections.
He said, “PM Modi’s reputation is continuously increasing not only in the country but also abroad, which is a matter of great pride for all of us.”
The former UP minister apparently named Azamgarh, which he said the BJP would win in a big way in the next national elections. The BJP not only lost Azamgarh in 2019 but could not win a single assembly seat from the district in the 2022 assembly elections.
Chouhan said that the development work done in UP under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath is unprecedented.
Deputy CM Pathak claimed that Chouhan was in constant touch with the BJP despite being in the opposition camp. Pathak said that people of all communities are reposing faith in the BJP’s policy of touching the lives of the entire society.
“This has happened because of the various welfare programs and schemes implemented by the BJP government,” he said.
Earlier in the day, Chouhan met Speaker Satish Mahana and submitted his resignation letter. He was accompanied by Chaudhary and UP minister Baldev Singh Olakh.
