Gurgaon: Daughter of a grocery store owner, Kanika Goyal She was the first woman in her family to graduate. This week, the family is celebrating again after the 23-year-old finished in the top 10 of the UPSC exam. His ninth place was also the best rank in the state in 2022 Civil.
Kanika, a resident of Kaithal, says that she used to dream of becoming an IAS officer since school. He cleared UPSC in his second attempt. A Political Science graduate from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, she attributes her success to the unwavering support of her family. She says, “I was inspired by the stories of IAS officers I read about in the newspapers. I wanted to make my parents proud by achieving something that no one in my family had ever achieved.”
Kanika did not opt ​​for coaching classes, but opted for online test series and mock interviews. “I used to write regularly, read different books and do pranayama every day,” she says.
It was also this persistence that helped Jhajjar’s Muskan Dagar achieve an all-India rank of 72 this time, a huge jump from 474th last year. Farmer’s daughter Muskaan’s mother wanted her to become a doctor, but her eyes were on UPSC. History graduate from Hindu College (DU), “My parents made sure that not many guests came to our house, and they did not go out often. I would say that my success has more to do with my parents ” Said.
Muskan, currently a trainee with the Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS), hopes to join as an IAS trainee by August-September. “I want to improve the status of women and children in the country,” she adds.
Anjali Garg, 25, admits that she is an “all-rounder”. Panchkula resident is a doctor, and was one of the toppers (5th rank) in Haryana Civil Services Examination. The HCS Trainee has secured All India Rank 79 in the recent UPSC Exams.
