Death Threat To Nijagunananda Swami; Min Promises To Bring Issue To The Notice Of Cm | Hubballi News – Times of India

Belagavi: Public works minister Satish Jarkiholi said Nijagunananda Swami of Nishkal Mantap, Bailur in Kittur taluk receiving a letter containing a death threat is a serious matter and he will bring this issue to the notice of CM Siddaramaiah.
He met the seer at Bailur on Wednesday. Seer had received a letter with death threat from an anonymous person on August 8 and he revealed it before the disciples a couple of days ago. The letter reads ‘Swamiji, your death might have been averted in 2020, but won’t be in 2023’.
The seer hasn’t registered a complaint at the police station, as it’s not the first time he received such threat messages. He had received a similar letter in January 2020 also. At that time, he had registered a formal police complaint. Jarkiholi said: “Such threats to progressive thinkers and activists are becoming common these days. Now, Nijagunananda Swami is also facing the same atrocity. I will bring it to the notice of CM.” “The state has an able government and police department to deal with such threats,” he added. “Nijagunananda Swami is reaching out, house to house, with Basava philosophy. Similarly, we are carrying the philosophy of Buddha, Basava, and Ambedkar. Since our path is similar, I often meet the seer,” he said.
