While at first Ranveer and his pregnant wife, Deepika smiled and waved to the growing crowds, security and other staff were seen stepping in to form a human chain around the couple to keep them safe.Ranveer was also seen putting his arms around DP while their security guards were seen making way for the couple to get into their waiting car.
The videos of the chaotic scene took social media by storm, with angry fans slamming the paparazzi for their behaviour, even after the actress announced that she is pregnant and in her first trimester. Taking to their handles, outraged fans gave the paps a schooling saying, “She is pregnant!!!!! Give her space!!!”
“This is so sick she doesn’t even have space to walk fans and the media should have known how to behave as they know she’s pregnant,” said another.
Another called the scenario ‘dangerous’ and suggested, “I think it should’ve been a private entry bc this is dangerous.”
“What insane level of craze is this..my anxiety on watching a pregnant woman surrounded by an excited crowd,” another wrote in the comments.
Another guessed that the couple went public about their pregnancy before their big appearance, to avoid such behaviour. Sadly for then, the frenzy only seemed to go up a notch. “I think the reason they announced so early was to avoid such scenarios but indian paps my god,” said a fan.
Deepika and Ranveer announced on Thursday morning that they are expecting their first child together. In their social media post, the couple revealed that baby Padukone-Singh will arrive in September 2024.
Their announcement came just days after rumours spread that the actress is carrying her first child. Speculation intensified when she made her BAFTA debut in a saree and struggled to hide her baby bump.
