Deepika Padukone is one of the most sought after names in the entertainment industry and her face can launch a 1000 products. In a recent interview, the actress spoke about her and husband Ranveer Singh’s coming together in ads and movies and how it yields bigger profits for them. The two are one of Bollywood’s most high-profile couples, and their coming together for a brand is a very lucrative proposition.
The actress, in her conversation with The Week, was asked if they (she and Ranveer) charge separate rates for doing ads and films together and she replied in the affirmative.She mentioned that they do charge a premium when they come together. She highlighted that they are uniquely positioned, where there is no imbalance between the couple. She also added that both of them have started from scratch and are proud of where they have reached.
However, Deepika was quick to add that she didn’t charge anything for her special appearances in Ranveer’s films like 83 and Cirkus . While Deepika was one of the producers in 83, in which she had an extended cameo as Kapil Dev’s wife Romi, in Cirkus she did a special dance number alongside her husband. Unfortunately, both films bombed at the box office, though 83 was praised for its performances. However, Deepika’s extended cameo in Jawan which again she did for free, is breaking box office records left right and center, the film has nearly made Rs 350 crore in India and Rs 700 crore worldwide.
Deepika currently has some of the biggest movies in her kitty, ranging from Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and Anil Kapoor, to Singham Again with Ajay Devgn. She will also be seen in Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan.
