New Delhi:

A 38-year-old man allegedly stabbed a factory worker to death on suspicion of having an affair with his wife in west Delhi’s Mundka. The police gave this information on Saturday.

Police said the accused Charan Singh, a resident of Mundka village, was arrested and the knife used in the crime was seized.

Police said the victim, Pradeep (25), worked with Charan Singh’s wife Pooja in a factory in Mundka and often visited her house, especially in his absence.

“This led to frequent arguments between Singh and his wife,” said a police officer.

On Thursday evening, Charan Singh had left home saying that he was going to Saifai to meet his sister, whose husband had passed away. However, when he returned after a few hours, he found Pradeep at his house.

All three ate food together and slept in the same room. At around 5.30 am, Charan Singh stabbed Pradeep in the stomach with a kitchen knife and fled. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Harendra Singh said Pooja took Pradeep to SGM Hospital but he died.
