Delhi Traffic police issues advisory ahead of Baisakhi celebrations | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Traffic Police released a statement on Saturday regarding the upcoming Baisakhi festivities at Guruji ka Ashram (Bade Mandir). The advisory aims to inform the public about traffic regulations that will be implemented in specific areas of the city.

In an announcement on X, the traffic police stated: “In view of Baisakhi celebrations at Guru Ji ka Ashram (Bade Mandir) on April 13, 2024, traffic regulations will be effective.”
The statement further mentioned that the movement of heavy and medium commercial vehicles will be regulated on Bhatti Mines Road, Bandh Road, Chhatarpur Road, and Sant Shri Nagpal Marg.
The advisory assured that “all emergency vehicles will be facilitated in reaching their destination.” However, it suggested that emergency vehicles should use Mehrauli-Gurugram Road instead of Dera Road and Mandi Road.
The Baisakhi celebrations are expected to attract a large number of devotees, estimated to be between 55,000 and 60,000, from across Delhi-NCR and neighboring states. The festivities will take place at Guruji Ka Ashram, Bhatti Mines Road, and Mehrauli.
The traffic police has urged commuters to utilize public transportation, particularly the metro services, to avoid congestion on the roads. Additionally, the public has been advised to allocate extra time when planning their journeys through the aforementioned roads and junctions.
The advisory concluded by saying, “Kindly avoid these roads and plan your journey accordingly.”
